Enjoying books of mystery/suspense/thriller genre, I found the first two of this series satisfying. The scripture references were spot on. Family values and Christian morality seemed to emphasize the intent of Ms. Booth's fine writing ie.. to visualize biblical concepts. The bible clearly informs readers of Satan's powers and desires.One slight criticism....in both books the characters were frequently described with extreme beauty. This was done with such frequency it became redundant. The constant references to 'perfect' outward beauty could send misleading messages to young people who are bombarded w/similar ones in the media.

Good read, brings reader along; however the author over does the "everyone is going to be alright.
After downloading the first in the series, I wanted to read the second and then the third. Unique concept. Well-developed characters. I recommend this series.
I have been very impressed with this series. The books keep you in suspense and keeps you turning the pages to see what is going to happen next. I look forward with anticipation for the next book. Great work!
This is the 2nd book in the series and it was just as good as the first. I'm looking forward to continuing with the 3rd book.
If you like the intriguing world of spiritual warfare, this book will not disappoint!
Billy is back...
I read Scinegue and have now finished The Pledge. I'm happy to see that our protagonist Billy is back in action. I am also pleased to see that S.R. Booth has chosen to keep the leading and supporting characters from Scinegue in the continuing story. It allows us to learn more about the characters and see them grow - and those you thought you may not like - just may end up proving you wrong. Just like book 1, The Pledge was a page turner that was hard to put down. I was convinced one of the characters was involved with ulterior motives... but in the end I was proven wrong.
A great follow up to Scinegue... I think to get the best out of this series you should read the books in order. I'm looking forward to seeing who does what in the next book in the series. I'm hoping to see more of Billy, Sarah, Mary, Bradley and a few others...
I thought with all the wonderful twists and turns in the first book there was no way that the author could make it happen again...I was wrong! I could not put this book down! I would recommend reading the books in order, you just get a better feel for the characters, and you would not want to miss out on getting to know them. I love that the characters struggle with the real life issues of dependence on God and how they in the end put all their trust in Him. They know that they played their roll well, but give all the glory to God.
